Jess van Netten.
While still at school, Jess developed a love for developing; be it in VB.Net (coding to make computer programs) or HTML (old-school websites). At first, HTML was restricted and tablistic. It was easy to modify but not easy to be impressive. Always one to impress, Jess quickly became bored with the same old websites. Her computer teacher Mr Weedon taught her a valuable (and yet not related to computers at all!) lesson - everything is just a small part of the bigger picture.
Not wanting to spend so much time behind a computer, she decided to make websites for fun and pursue a career in psychology. Little did she know what life had in store for her. While working at a screen printers, the opportunity arose for a website to be created. Jess enjoyed the return to web design and initially made a beautiful table website. Well, it seemed in the two years since she had graduated, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) had jumped in to be the next 'table'! So after many hours late at night working in the glow of her PC, a cool CSS site was designed and implemented. The customer response was so appreciative that her first official freelance job was won - 20Knots.
The first paying job was filled with trepidation but resulted in a happy customer and a happy designer. With this small taste of free creativity, Jess worked for a very short stint with another company before realising she wanted to start her own company. Thus, Creativity Abounds was born.
